Music Rotation — 5 Mar

Posted in music at 12:55 pm by berzerkeleyan

For the week:

Elbow “Leaders Of The Free World” (2005)
Duran Duran “Duran Duran” (1993)
The Cars “The Cars” (1978) — this is a seminal debut album, made by a bunch of über-dweebs who didn’t know they were über-dweebs (save for Benjamin Orr; he was a rock star). Many years ago, an old friend of mine and I agreed that the second half of this album (Side 2 for those who remember LPs and cassettes) is one of the greatest song sequences ever. To this day, I’m still convinced of it.
The Cars “Candy-O” (1979)
808 State “Ex:El” (1991)
The Crystal Method “Vegas” (1997)
Boston “Boston” (1976) — had to listen to this album after reading this.
Embrace “Out Of Nothing” (2004)
