So its taken you 12 years to listen to one of the best album of the 90s in Stanley Road. Tsk,tsk…..and I thought you were at the cutting edge of music :o) Only joshing…..

Dunno if you’ve heard it already but Weller’s new’ish album (As Is Now) is a cracker. To be honest between Stanley Road and As Is Now he has produced some very middle of the road stuff so you haven’t missed much there.

  2. So what you’re saying is “Studio 150” isn’t worth my time? I thought you liked that one.

No question “Stanley Road” is impressive, if only because it shows him transforming himself yet again, and doing so incredibly well. From The Jam, to The Style Council (not your favourite, I know), to “Stanley Road” — he’s had quite the musical odyssey.

Hmmm – Studio 150 is OK. Definitely not Weller at his best though. To add to that Illumination and Heliocentric are very forgettable albums. Wouldn’t waste your time !

If you ever get a chance to see him live I’d recommend going. I’ve seen him live 4 or 5 times now and it never ceases to amaze me how much he still throws himself into his live performances. He seems to play every gig as if its his last one.

Oh yeah…….you can keep your Style Council :o)
