Posted in music at 7:06 pm by berzerkeleyan

For the week:

Thompson Twins “Into The Gap” (1984)genre: New Wave Pop.
Jay-Z + DJ Danger Mouse “The Grey Album” (2004)genre: Hip Hop.  “I got 99 problems, but a bitch ain’t one. HITME!”  My new theme song.
Grandaddy “The Sophtware Slump” (2000)genre: Space Rock.
Mötley Crüe “Too Fast For Love” (1982)genre: Metal.
Badly Drawn Boy “The Hour Of Bewilderbeast” (2000)genre: British Indie Pop. It’s been entirely too long since I heard this. I was inspired after finally watching “About a Boy,” for which BDB supplied the soundtrack (fantastic movie, BTW). “THoB” is an entirely original, hour-long love song, and is required listening for any lovesick dork (the answer is “no,” in case you’re wondering). Dust off your copies, people.
Hot Chip “The Warning” (2006)genre: Techno Geek.
Turin Brakes “Dark On Fire” (2007)genre: Folk.
Ryan Adams “Easy Tiger” (2007)genre: alt.country.
